This coin is attributed to the rulers of the German Duchy of Hanover, among them George Ludwig the First Duke.
It came to mark the connection and loyalty at that time between the Lancaster family (Duke John Mont) and the Tudor family (the royal dynasty that ruled England according to Henry VII, VIII, and Elizabeth I).
